Huawei MediaPAD Gets Ice Cream Sandwich

By • Apr 30th, 2012

Today I happened to check the Huawei MediaPAD web-page to find the Android 4.0 ICS update.

It’s fairly a straight forward installation process, where you have to download this 328.96MB zipped file. Once extracted, you will find  the following highlighted files and folders.

Open the ‘upgrade’ folder and copy the ‘dload’ folder, which will contain the following files, to the root directory of your microSD card.

Then insert the SD card into MediaPad and switch it on. If everything runs well, you will get the following screen, and all you have to do is follow the screen instructions.

P.S.: I tested this software S7-301u V100R002C232B002 with Dialog, Airtel and Hutch networks and had no issues with call and data.

    Hi Mack005

Whilst thanking you for the info, I would like to know whether your mediaPad needs to be rooted before installing the 4.0 ICS update ?
