The Official Samsung Galaxy S3 Flip Cover

By • Mar 30th, 2013 • Category: Reviews

This is the official Samsung Galaxy S3 flip cover specifically made for the S3, which gives it a perfect fit without adding any bulkiness to your phone. I of course felt this is a perfect choice for someone who wants a slim stylish cover for their handset, just like the cases for Galaxy Note 10.1. The case clips neatly onto the back of your Samsung Galaxy S3 and the front cover flips round to protect your S3 screen. Yes, you will be removing the original back cover and replacing with this. Which means your original battery cover will look as brand new. And no more worries about scratching the screen, when you mistakenly put the S3 in to the same pocket where your car key are. Though your S3 has a scratch proof Gorilla glass, you still don’t feel like placing the S3, screen down on a hard surface, do you? Now you can, coz you got [...]

OtterBox for Peace of Mind.

By • Dec 17th, 2012 • Category: Reviews

First of all, I would like to thank Shehan (Loops Solutions, the Social Media company) who got me this Commuter Series casing for the Samsung Galaxy S i9000 from Quincy, the official agent for Otterbox here in Sri Lanka for a review. Let’s start off with, checking what the Commuter Series pack includes, that protects your valuable device. A Self-adhesive Screen Protector – I think it is not necessary for a phone with a scratch resistance surface. So um not going to use it. What is your opinion on that, do you still use screen protectors? Impact Absorbing Silicone – that slips over the back of the phone and around the bezel, and provides a small lip projection slightly higher than the screen. Hi-impact Polycarbonate Cover – A plastic cover that snap into place onto the silicon. So basically, any impacts on the polycarbonate cover is distributed across a wide area and the silicone [...]

The Samsung Galaxy SIII Review

By • Jul 2nd, 2012 • Category: Etisalat, Reviews

Thanks to Etisalat Sri Lanka, I was able to get ma hands on the Samy’s latest flagship phone, the GalaxyS3. And here it is! You may already know that the S3 comes with a Quad-core 1.4GHz processor coupled with Mali-400MP graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM, which I believe is partly responsible for the best browsing experience that you can get on a smartphone. Browsing is so smooth and fast, and if you are a Chrome user on your desktop, you can easily sync your bookmarks, saved passwords etc between the devices. Talking about the display, it has a superb 4.8 inch Super HD AMOLED screen. In my opinion, I feel screen size should not get bigger than this on a smartphone, since I felt a bit uncomfortable reaching to the top of the screen with my thumb, while holding the phone with my other fingers. This time Samsung has opted for the PenTile display [...]

MediaPAD: First Impression

By • Jan 22nd, 2012 • Category: Reviews

When I say made in China, what’s the first thing that comes to your mind? Cheap and lousy products? That’s how I use to think, but not any more, after having my hand on the Huawei MediaPad. The anodised aluminium body give it a premium look and feel.

Translate with FotoTranslate

Are you going abroad on holiday or business? and wants to look up words quickly and easily? If you use a Nokia smartphone, ABBYY’s FotoTranslate is your best companion. This native symbian app, which can also be installed on your handsets mass memory, will instantly translate foreign words on your Symbian smartphone with one click – take a picture of a word, phrase or text fragment with the camera of your mobile phone, and get word-by-word translations on the screen. You can choose a translation direction, e.g. Rusian to English; German to English; Spanish to English or vice-versa. For my review I chose the French to English version. You need a computer to download the application and then install it using Nokia PC Suit or OVI Suit, since ABBYY does not have a mobile friendly site yet, to download the app directly to your phone. Mind you FotoTranslate and other [...]

Nokia Booklet 3G First Impression

By • May 9th, 2010 • Category: Reviews

Nokia, the Finish company released it’s first netbook computer known as the Booklet 3G. Two weeks back I had the opportunity to trial this master piece. It came with Microsoft Windows 7 Starter pre-installed. Speaking about the hardware configuration, it sports a Intel Atom Z530 1.6 GHz processor with 120GB hard drive along with just 1GB of DDR2 RAM. Hardware wise you don’t see much of a difference between the Booklet and the other Netbooks in the market, except for it’s embedded 3G/HSDPA modem and built-in GPS receiver. The Nokia Booklet 3G’s chassis is crafted from single piece of tough, resilient elemental aluminium. And uses the Intel Poulsbo US15W chipset with  fanless design, so it’s ultra quiet. The 10.1 inch HD display is covered with a glass layer for a crisp and clear view of the screen. Nokia Booklet includes a HDMI connector, two USB ports and a 3.5mm audio [...]
