Express Your Emotions To Your Loved Ones With PixME
By Mack005 • Dec 24th, 2008 • Category: Applications, Carrier Talk, Dialog, Top StoryI came across this while I was googling for a short and sweet christmas greeting which I could send to my friends via SMS. It’s PixME from Dialog Telekom.
You can add life to your messages and convey something more with animated pictures. Right now the PixME library hold just twenty-five pictures and animations to fit your mood & fancy, in five categories. Wish Dialog will add more flavour in the near future.
For trial I picked one and sent it to my own number, and there it is in my PixME applications inbox. But do not worry, you need not install the PixME application to receive messages. The recipient will get an SMS with the PIXME message link, which they can click to connect via GPRS to view the message on the phones native browser. Yep! you and your recipient needs a GPRS enabled device.
Talking about cost, it depends on the pictures that you select. Rates will be based on three price slabs,
which will be LKR 2.00, 5.00 and 10.00, plus the GPRS charges and taxes.
Installation is no fuss, just type PIXME and send to 678. You will receive a SMS with te download link.
Now lets come to the bottom line. How useful do you think this is? Honestly for me its not, coz, this service is only between Dialog Network. And most of my friends are living overseas and they don’t use Dialog, obviously. Therefore I will consider using it more frequently if Dialog fix that network barrier.
And one more thing, I think Zamsana Media should enable the application to add multiple recipients to a message.
